Fundraising
IN AID OF THE MERCURY PHOENIX TRUST
Phoenix’ first major challenge, will be Coast to Coast 2009. Before then, we’ll be attempting a series of smaller fundraisers to contribute to our chosen charity The Mercury Phoenix Trust.
COAST TO COAST!!! (July/August 2009)
Starting In Holyhead, making our way across Wales and England, to Great Yarmouth on the East Coast, a total of four hundred miles were covered on the Coast to Coast walk, in five weeks. We finished very tired, a little worse for where, but indescribably happy. Thank you to all who helped us along the way.
Our total fundraising for MPT reached a little over £3000.
THE CAR BOOTY!! (TAKING PLACE JUNE 27th 2009)
So this Saturday we are taking a bunch of unwanted items down to a local car boot sale where we hope to raise a bit of extra cash for MPT. Now obviously car boot sales don’t raise very much money comparitively so we are displaying large posters telling prospective buyers that all the proceeds will be going to charity, hopefully people will give more generously! As long as we make a profit on the money we have to pay to attend the sale, i’ll be happy! We will take plenty of pictures and post a couple on here and let you know what we make!
We finally have an approx total on the Christmas Shoe Box Drive!! We managed to raise over £300 in pennies which is a huge amount!! Big thank you to everyone who took part in that fundraiser!
CHARITY AUCTION!!
(March 09′)
So this weekend was the 24th Official Internation Queen Fan Club Convention (Snappy name!) and we decided it would be a good place to try and raise some extra money and awareness. Siobhan expertly painted a portrait of each member of the band and the owner of the fan club Jacky Smith, kindly agreed to take them down and get them signed. We auctioned them off on Saturday and raised £300 for the cause. Big thank you to Terry Jacobs for being so generous!! We also collected a further £400 in sponsorship money so HUGE thank you to everyone who signed up! Now, swiftly on to fundraiser number three!
(January 09)
A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who took part in the Phoenix Christmas Shoebox Change Drive, we should have a total very soon but we can say it went incredibly well, and that several participants will be continuing with their collections into the New Year. So thank you all, keep checking for more fundraisers you might be able to get involved in, or if you have any ideas of course, don’t hesitate to let us know! Happy New Year!
CHRISTMAS CHANGE DRIVE!! (November 08)
For the Christmas season, Phoenix are planning a festive fundraiser for MPT.
It being Christmas, we’ve gone for something we hope is an inexpensive bit of fun everyone can get involved in!

Of course, Christmas is a bad time to request charitable giving, but don‘t worry, this one with luck, will be of great help to us and MPT, without causing any one any financial difficulty.
All the Phoenix Christmas Shoebox Change Drive (Snappy name!) involves, is a shoebox, and whatever loose change anyone in your house feels like dropping in between now and New Year. Just grab a box, put it somewhere nicely in view, cut a coin slit in the top, and in two months count it, bank it, and send your total to our web-email (enquries@phoenixfirefoundation.com). We will send details of how to send your donation then.
